Raptors know no fear. An f-22 fighter pilot is completely fearless. You might have a slight chance if you have an su-37 or a raptor of your own. However, it is unlikely that your skill will be better than that of the USAF pilot. They are armed with AIMX Air-to-air missles, which have a top speed of over mach 5. The f-22 raptor doesn’t have the best speed, only a touch over mach 2. However, its superior stealth characteristics make it almost undetectable.

I use a katana but unless you have had about twenty years of expeirience years of expeience learning the ways of the velocoraptor, you are better off just using an ICBM. even then count yourself lucky if you survive
Understanding Your Raptor
It is easy to misunderstand the anger, ferocity and vengeful screams of a Raptor, the truth is, they are merely putting on a tough front to hide a scared and sensitive soul. You see, Raptors hatch from their shells quite often with drunk and abusive fathers and are subject to taunts from an early age from the bullies of the dinosaur world, the T-Rex teenagers (known as “Treens”).
If a raptor is attacking you, simply lower your eyes and begin recalling a sad story from your childhood. This will catch the raptor offguard as he will instantly empathise with your pain.
While the raptor is then moving in to hold you and console you, reach around as if to give it a cuddle and dig your thumb hard into its Cervical Spine, where you can use your thumb to ‘hook’ its spinal cord and sever it instantly. This will render the Raptor helpless and without the use of its limbs or jaw (it’s eyes still work so it may cry). Once this is done, find a sharp stick and poke the raptor until you get bored. Happy Hunting!!

A raptor’s sight is based on motion. Remain absolutely still.
A thrown object can distract them, either by the motion of the object in their peripheral vision or the sound it makes when it hits something. This can give you time to make your escape. If you are in their sight when you throw it; you are out of luck. They are smart enough to stay on their prey.
DO NOT TRY TO OUTRUN THE RAPTOR. This is impossible. A raptor can run some 30m/s on open ground. They use their tail as a giant rudder, giving them the ability to turn very sharply. This means they can run very fast even in confined areas where maneuverability is limited. Your only hope here is that, if you are in a group, and someone in the group is slower than yourself, you have a fighting chance; even hunting in groups raptors tend to stop at first kill.
If you must turn and fight a single raptor without an adequate firearm; think large, edged weapon. A large sword, a shovel, pitchfork or whatever. You will probably lose. You may, however, get a quick first hit, injuring the raptor enough that it will be distracted long enough for you to make your escape.
Now, Raptors have trouble with door handles, but are strong enough to break down most doors. Their sense of smell is acute enough to detect you within a normal dwelling. A house is normally not sufficient protection against a raptor. Raptors cannot climb ladders or trees. Elevation can be your salvation, especially at night. Water towers are both easy to spot and easy to climb, given a pair of bolt cutters and a short ladder or something to stand on to make it to the bottom of the built in ladder. Remember; when the sun goes down, you want to be somewhere the raptors can’t get to and are unlikely to smell you. Altitude is your friend.
So, how do you protect yourself? 1) Arm yourself. Heavily. 12ga. pump or auto works well with slugs. The range is limited, but ammo should be easy to find and even bird shot will do in a pinch. Anyways; you should be thinking about self defense, not hunting raptors. Remember; Slugs are the key. If not available, double ought buck is your next best, then low number pellets, bird shot as a last resort. High number bird shot (say 5-8) will probably not kill them, but at close range it can do enough damage to back them down a bit or temporarily stun them. 22′s are useless. Unless it’s got a high-cap magazine, you’ll just piss them off. Even with a lot of rounds; you won’t do enough damage to slow them down very much. For a side-arm; think 357 magnum or larger. Realize that, with a sidearm, it’s going to take a head shot or a kill-zone shot to be effective. BUT (here’s the good news) a head shot (not a graze) can shut them down for a period 2-5 minutes or even kill them, depending on shot placement, the caliber of the handgun and the raptor, while a kill zone shot may take them down permanently as well. A good heavy sidearm also provides a rapid defense, if you are caught unaware. If you can find a 44 magnum, they are an excellent choice, with almost as much power as a 454 Cassul and 444 taurus, not quite as powerful as the 460 revolver or 50 S&W, but much much easier to find ammo for.
For a main armament (not that you want to go hunting raptors, by any means) but any rifle considered adequate for deer hunting can be effective. Rarely do raptors hunt alone, rarely will they give you a good shot or a long time to aim. Think volume of fire. Also; 22′s are still worthless, even in magnum, think 30 cal or larger. A 22-250, .223, .243, 25-06, .270 or similar will be somewhat effective, if a 30cal isn’t available. In 30 cal.; 30-30, 7.62×39(ak,sks)and 30 carbine are effective, but with limited range. 30-06 would be preferred, but a .308 is more than sufficient. You can use a 300winmag, 300WSM, 7mm or other similar, but again; you need to be thinking in terms of rounds that are easy to find.BUT; black powder isn’t particularly useful in a defensive scenario, unless you are being attacked by only one raptor, AND you get off a well aimed shot the first time. For the same reason single shot rifles and bolt actions are only slightly more effective. Lever action is limited as well, but better than the others. A semi-automatic is really your best option. Also; high cap magazines should be sought out. An AK with a bayonet may provide some additional confidence, and even an emergency protection device, but this isn’t essential or even very useful. In fact a Browning BAR in 30-06 may be the most effective rifle that is readily available, owing to the powerful round. You will want to have as many magazines for it as possible, as hi-cap for a BAR is very hard to acquire. A 50 BMG is a nice choice in either bolt action or semi-auto, but again; think in terms of mobility and availability. A 50 is extremely unwieldly and the ammo is too heavy to carry in large volume. 50 BMG is likely though, to be the only round capable of a ‘dead right there’ shot on a raptor. It’s not entirely without value. A 50 beowulf is probably the ideal rifle, but fairly difficult to find and even more difficult to find ammo for.
Now, you need a group; remember, at least a couple of fat people will make your survival more likely. One or two hot-chicks should round out the group nicely, and try to find a few guys that are reasonably competent with firearms and self-defense. Probably a bit athletic helps as well, but remember; you don’t want to be the fat guy in the group. Heck, as long as there’s a couple of hot chicks in the group you probably want to make sure you are the most athletic and competent man. It’s good to be the king.
Now; to make your escape; you are heading for an island, my friend. That’s right! Raptors have a very limited ability to cross water. They don’t swim any distance whatsoever, so an island is the ideal place to hole up and formulate a plan to take back the world. An island without a bridge. In a pinch, you could blow the bridge, but in the meantime you will be unprotected. This is no time to invite additional danger.
What you need to do is find a map or atlas. Find the nearest body of water that has an island large enough to accommodate your group, preferably with livable structures and maybe even a well. You’ll probably have to figure out how to generate power, but having the infrastructure is a good start.
Remember; the island should be surrounded by at least a half mile of water on all sides. Raptors have a strong sense of smell, are ambitious hunters and are not unable or afraid to swim; they simply aren’t that good at it.
Now; make your way to that island. Think vehicle. You won’t make it on foot. Not motorcycle; they’ll simply knock you down and eat the bloody remains. You want a pickup, and SUV (heavy) or a really fast and maneuverable car; Porsche, corvette, camaro (NOT A CONVERTIBLE). IF THERE’S any way to procure an M113, these have the added advantage of being impervious to raptor attack! They are gas hogs, but they also have enough room to carry considerable fuel, and are built with a 50 cal mount in the cupola. The armory or facility where you find the M113 will probably have a 50cal in the weapons vault. It may prove difficult to get. But that doesn’t make the M113 any less useful, really.
Now get to your island; Keep your chosen vehicle full of gas as best you can, drive slow when you can; save fuel so you don’t have to stop as often, and only drive fast when necessary to outrun the raptors. Plus; if you get in an accident, the raptors will most definitely be there before emergency services. Don’t chance it; drive slowly and carefully when you can. Once you get to the shore nearest the island, stay with your vehicle until you find a boat or boats capable of carrying the group. Once found and procured, load up what is safe to carry. You can make more than one trip. Once you are on the boat you are probably safe. A raptor is unlikely to try to attack you in the water. More likely wait until early morning, cross to the island and hunt you on land. As I said; half mile water barrier should be sufficient. Take as much provisions as you can carry; make well planned trips to the mainland to forage and always use two boats each capable of carrying the entire crew if necessary. Raptors may attack you at the boats when you are on shore. If you have to leave someone behind, they will be unlikely to survive.
Good luck, and God speed!
