You are all wrong the calculation is all wrong a UK penny 1982 to present weighs 3.5g not 2.5
3.547g
I’ve just weighed out a load of pennies tonight so that in future, I wouldn’t have to count them out into bags, I can just weight them. Each penny was an average weight of 3.547g which makes 100 average pennies 354.7g. 100 pennies in a money bag weighs an average of 355.8g
elephants
I think you calculated wrong, and how much does the Statue of Liberty weigh in terms of elephants? I have not been able to find the answer on the web. Please respond to this.
They don't mention which penny they are meaning.
That is the weight of a US penny, which changed mid 1982 from 3.11 grams.
The modern UK penny has changed several times including its materiel composition, I am unaware of its average weights.

It says it weighs 3.56g so xKronix is very close.
